THE BRIDGE BUILDERS PROGRAM

While national statistics tell a bleak story about African-American youth we at The Bridge Builders, on the other hand, are celebrating our students' personal, spiritual and academic success. Our charges are graduating from high school and some of the most prestigious colleges across the nation. Many may wonder how a community-based organization with no paid staff achieves this type of success. The answer is simple. We hold fast to the African-centered principles that elevated our ancestors and elders.

Our pre-college program has received national recognition and was selected as a model program. Our participants spend more than four hours each week at either the University of Portland or Concordia University with an academic mentor who helps make sure the passage participants are college ready. Combined with the college matriculation program, college tours and advocates in the schools for each participant The Bridge Builders youth are equipped for success!
